There have been swarms of anomalous aerial objects worldwide over military bases and sensitive nuclear sites for about a month now. The U.S. media has focused on New Jersey so far regarding this. I hosted a podcast about it last night with Tom Ross and Heather Crank as guests. Neither of them had seen the glowing plasmoid video I had. I ended up sounding stupid trying to explain that one and others where the lights seemed to be blinking on and off and multiplying. I started raving about that damn book from the nineties that forecast everything since and trying to figure out whether this drone swarm was in there too and saying, “I think it was,” falling victim to my own reality tunnel(s).
The danger room here is the vacuum where any explanation ought to go. I admit my bias in favor of the fantastic and the unexpected, but even government drones sniffing out lost nukes would explain it better than, “Nothing nefarious,” and my nervous system is activated. There are some SUV-sized drones with blinking red and green lights up there–highly unusual on the face of it but conceivably mechanical, apparently within the laws of physics. I’ve also seen video of what look like giant yellow single-celled organisms among those oversized vessels, and whole parking lots full of cars and trucks with lights blinking in silence beneath them. Maybe that was faked. Some people think it’s Elon Musk behind all this. His brother Kimball reportedly just bought a drone company. Is it a coup d’etat? Not out of the ballpark.
Something is going on and most people haven’t noticed yet. Around here most people live by self-made reality tunnels that allow some things in and screen out others, switching between their own and others’ equally personalized networks where possible in a joke of a game at objectivity. The truth is always moving, and we’re always chasing that spotlight or pretending to know where it is.
A couple of days ago, I asked New Jersey resident Deanne Battle had she seen any drones and she told me a story about an old man spying on her sister from the house next door. Marc Bliesener who named the Dead Kennedys called about a half hour before the podcast and said, “I really think it’s just a bunch of drones.” For casual observers, the word “drones” is a catch-all for whatever it way be, and the unexamined life is always more comfortable. I’m excited because I want something fantastic to happen again. Because the fantastic is what I live for. I’ll be in a “drones” mindset then make contact with someone from the writing world and have to throttle down and swerve back into normal mode. Chiron Review accepted another short of mine yesterday, which feels good, and the interviews collection will be published soon with a few UAP/FO-related bytes in-text, like a healthy chapter on Philip K. Dick, a long conversation with Jami Cassady at Mutiny Information Café, and a few choice references to A.I. toward the end. I was expecting a UFO researcher (not Ross Coulthart, but he’s great) to show up to that podcast and help me effect a smoother balance, but fate had other plans.
We went live and Tom Ross said he didn’t think there was any reason to fear extraterrestrials and that this was probably a psy-op of some kind. I’d been following things closely and I told him I agreed but they didn’t seem to be trying to instill fear of aliens at this point, just explain away whatever it was. Heather Crank agreed she thought it was anomalous that the government was unable to identify these aircraft, considering how particular they generally seemed to be about whose airspace it was. Not to mention how they took action right away and brought down that Chinese spy balloon a little while ago. Tom made the point that the media was owned by a couple of corporations, and when I asked if he knew whether NewsNation was owned in this sense, he wasn’t familiar. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I know who to trust and they probably are owned, but I like that outlet so far. Maybe I’m their target demographic. He also seemed unsure about trusting Elizondo, who has always seemed fairly straightforward, but was recently caught promoting a reflection as a picture of a UFO (either a fumble or a mistake or a confession, who knows?).
We’re between presidential administrations and everyone’s all stirred up in different ideological ways. There was that healthcare executive shot recently, and the war in Ukraine, and the genocide in Gaza, and all the other different flavored human rights repeals afoot. It really seems like everyone is watching different broadcasts anymore which is the perfect time for crazy shit to bloom, whether earthly or extraterrestrial in origin. There’s a ban on drones now by the FAA and I wonder what effect it will have. None yet. We didn’t come to any conclusions about the situation on that podcast but took covenant in each other’s company for about forty-five minutes. I decided not to post that cast. There’s always next time, I thought. Maybe mid-January sometime. Whitley Strieber has a new book called The Fourth Mind coming out that month in hardcover and paperback he says he thinks will be the last one he writes before we make contact with aliens. I appreciate the positivity of his estimation, considering he opened the door to this reality for millions. Unless this really is the green mile to Project Blue Beam but let’s hope not.
